There are a lot of falsehoods being spread about Moorish Americans. One of the most ridiculous claims being made is that Moorish Americans are sovereign citizens. Simply not true.

A lot of this confusion is partly due to some Moors who have been purposefully misguided by dirty Moors claiming we are sovereign citizens... when it is them who don't fully understand the principles of nationality. This lot makes it look bad on the rest of us Moors who are actually trying to clean up our people.

Another source of misrepresentation is the Southern Poverty Law Center. Type in Moorish American in a google search and they are number one in the search engine... with Moorish Americans listed as sovereign citizens under "extremist files".

Let me go on record to say... Moorish Americans are not sovereign citizens. Any studied Moor, or individual that understands the principles of nationality should equally understand the principles of sovereignty for they are one in the same. Sovereignty comes with nationality. It doesn't stand alone.

Let's look at the legal definition of sovereignty so that we can better understand what sovereignty is as it applies to Moorish Americans, or any other nation of people.

From reading... we see that sovereignty is the supreme, absolute, and uncontrollable power by which any independent state is governed.

The keyword in that sentence was state. We now need to know what a state is to understand the scope of sovereignty. 

A state is a people permanently occupying a fixed territory bound together by common-law habits and custom into one body politic exercising, through a medium of an organized government, independent sovereignty... let's stop right there.

Lots of keywords in there... but people was the most important. We see that a state is also "a people"... but what does the legal definition of people say? 

Immediately we see that people means a state. Sovereignty is the supreme, absolute, and uncontrollable power by which any independent state is governed. We just learned that a state is people... and that people means a state. 

That also means each individual person is a state... the collective of those persons are people... and we see that the second definition of people is a nation in its collective and political capacity.

So sovereignty is nothing more than a people in control of its own affairs without foreign influence (dictation). But lets take it one step further. What is the legal definition of nation.

Nation... a people. Of course the next logical definition to show is nationality. The we will proceed.

We see that nationality is that quality or character which arises from the fact of a person's belonging to a nation or state. 

We also see that nation possesses historic continuity, and is distinguished from other like groups by their "racial" origin and characteristics, and generally, but not necessarily, living under the same government and sovereignty.

As I stated earlier in the article... sovereignty comes with nationality. Now let's do some myth busting.

Sovereignty as it applies to Moorish Americans is based on the principle that original, indigenous, and aboriginal people are sovereign to govern their own affairs as a nation of people independent of foreign influence... as with the case of the United States of America.

So what nation do Moorish Americans belong to claim their sovereignty? We belong to the Moorish Nation.

What is the Moorish Nation? And how are Moorish Americans a part of it?

The Moorish Nation consists of the direct bloodline descendents of the ancient Mauretanians (now called Moroccans... also known as Moors)... who are the descendants of Canaanite/Moabite people... who are descendents of the Original Asiatic Womb-man.

Moorish Americans are blood descendents of the peoples of the  Moorish Nation.

Moor-ish American denotes that we are Americans of Moorish descent. Moorish... "ish" referring to the bloodline of those ancient people that settled ancient America and Northwest Africa long ago... and were still here in America when America was re-discovered by Europeans in the 15th Century.

Who are the Moorish Americans in the United States of America? The Moorish Americans are the so called negroes, black people, colored people, "Indians", African Americans etc... and any other people with "colorable designations" living within the United States of America and its territories... which exists within the borders of America... which on paper is the "Al Maghreb al Aqsa"... Morocco, the farthest West... Al Moroc... Dominions of the Moorish Empire.

Is there any evidence that the United States of America is within the Moorish Empire? Yes. Correspondence from the United States Consul General James De Long, esq. to Sidi Mohammed Bargash, the Moorish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Feb 26, 1862.  

James De Long, esq., says that the men in his custody are citizens of the Federal Government of the United States which I represent in YOUR EMPIRE, ALL OWING ALLEGIANCE to the same.

There are numerous proclamations from major U.S. cities that have stated on the record that Moorish Americans settled the Americas and set up vast Empires prior to European occupation.

This particular proclamation (below) comes from former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel... in which he proclaimed January 8 through the 15 Moorish American week in Chicago.

Delaware Code, Title 29, subsection 106 Lenape Indian Tribe of Delaware; recognition (a)... (4) The Tribe was formerly known as “the Moors” and, for many decades of the twentieth century, state documents such as driver’s licenses designated the Tribe’s race with an “M”.

The Delaware Code straight up tells you that the Moors are now called Indians... and we know that Indians come from India. So the Americans that were rebranded Indians were originally Moorish Americans.

So if all this evidence exists that Moorish Americans are the peoples of America prior to European colonial occupation... why are Moorish Americans being branded sovereign citizens? To hide the true identity of the so called black people in America. Ask yourself this... if all this evidence exists... why have you never heard of it... or why weren't you taught this history in school?

Why does the Southern Poverty Law Center website say that Moorish Americans think they are sovereign and independent of the authority of federal and state governments? The SPLC website's information on Moorish Americans is taken out context, mostly inaccurate, and clearly biased as it primarily based on the inexperienced, incompetent, or the work of dirty Moors.

I have already debunked the claim that Moorish Americans are sovereign citizens by showing you that as a nation of people... Moors have sovereignty because our nationality (allegiance to the Moorish Nation) gives us political status... which is standing (at law)... to be able to take our place amongst the affairs of men.

The reason the United States of America has no jurisdiction over any Moor is because the Moorish Nation has never given jurisdiction over the Moorish people to the United States of America.

No treaty that the Moorish Empire has entered into with the United States of America gives the federal or state governments the power to impose its laws, statutes, codes, or policies on Moors. There were Consular Courts set up for this very reason because any Moor that was  a Subject or citizen of the Moorish Empire had to dealt with under the laws of the Moorish government.

You can read about this in Articles 20 and 21 of the 1787 Treaty of Peace and Friendship between Morocco and the United States of America. 

For more proof of that the Moors were only to be judged by their own customs... let's take a look at an excerpt of the 1491 Surrender Treaty of Granada. 

Section 5 of the treaty specifically says, "The Moors shall be judged under their own laws and courts by the Islamic law they are accustomed to observing, under the authority of their judges." 

This should also clear up the question if the Moors called themselves Moors. I get a lot of people who ask this question. The easiest way to understand this is that Moor is short for Moroccan. Simple.

So no... Moors are not being sovereign citizens. We are observing OUR customs and culture. And we are well within our right to do so since the United States of America is in the Dominions of the Moorish Empire (the Americas). 

Prophet Noble Drew Ali said that Moors were to come back into the constitutional fold of government... and if Moors are being honorable... they are law abiding citizens... and are well within their rights to defend themselves from the colonizer's customs and practices. 

And if we really want to put the nail in the coffin... English Common Law (Colorable Law) being practiced on American soil is illegal.

English Law and American Law are not synonymous even though they try to make it seem so. Prior to European colonization... the indigenous American people did not come under the jurisdiction of English Common Law because America is not England.

​An example of American Law would be the Iroquois Confederacy... Americans that made laws... not Europeans enforcing foreign English laws and policies on another people.

The introduction of contemporary European History in stark contrast to the actual history of humanity has been one of the greatest deceptions of modern times. Even the fact that the first Europeans were not the so called "white" people we see today... and in that regard... are not the original people of the earth. 

That's a deeper discussion... but it does set the tone for this particular topic. It is the modern European's version of their history that created Africa... and the African.

The narrative that humanity started in Africa isn't based in actual truth. The continent that we know today as Africa has not always been called by that name. In fact... the ancient people of that land had no concept of Africa... or continents.

Modern day European History teaches that all so called black people descend from the so called African race... or one of the so called African races.

In the United States... so called black people are reduced to being the African descendants of slaves and have forced to accept various designations of identity (Indian, negro, colored, black, African American etc...) without knowing the true history of our so called African ancestry due to chattel slavery. 

The deception is real.

When we think about Africa... we think of a vast continent. When we think African... we think of the people who inhabit Africa. The so called African people are an amalgamation of nations... each with a distinct nationality to denote their country of origin.

However... when we examine the name Africa itself... we come away with a very different conclusion. Africa has had many names in the past... and the perpetuation of the narrative that it has always existed as Africa... and that all the people of that land have always been Africans is flat out not true.

Let's begin with truth.

Africa did exist... as the Roman Province Africa Proconsularis established in 146 BC after the Third Punic War when Rome finally defeated Carthage.

Africa Proconsularis was situated in what is today present day Tunisia, the northeast of coast of present day Algeria, and a part of the northwestern coast of present day Libya. Africa Proconsularis was inhabited by the Mauri... who are the Carthaginians...  who are the Phoenicians... who are all Moors.

Carthage was located within the Roman Province Africa Proconsularis - "land of of the Afri".

After Publius Cornelius Scipio's defeat of Hannibal Barca-Bey in the Second Punic War in 202 BC at the Battle of Zama, he took the name Publuis Scipio Africanus... taking the name of the "Afri" people of the region... not the continent. 

It is a common misconception that the "continent" we now call Africa was named after Publius Scipio. Publius' brother... Lucius Cornelius Scipio took the name Lucius Scipio Asiaticus after his military success in Asia. Lucius did not name Asia.

​Upon further research... you'll find that the singular form of the (plural) Afri is Afer. The etymological entry for Afer goes back to Latin... and then to the Punic meaning "Carthage".

It is said that the Phoenicians encountered an indigenous  people in that region... and the term Afer is an ethnonym derived from the Punic "afar" for "dust" or "earth"... most likely meaning "people of the earth". 

In the Berber language... it is related to the term "ifri" meaning cave... most likely denoting the people were "cave dwellers".

It is also closely related to the Hebrew "apar" meaning "dust".

Today the Afar people live in Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Djibouti.    

Afer in the Latin first and second declension is an adjective in the singular nominative case. In the plural it is Afri... and it means from Africa... Proconsularis... the Roman province (the area of modern day Tunisia).

Afer as a proper noun is masculine... in the genitive case... "Afri" and is Latin second declension meaning  a Carthaginian of the Roman Republic (Africa Proconsularis) ... and is also a cognomen applied to the natives of that province.

Also during the time of Septimius Severus... who was a Moorish Holy Roman Emperor of the empire that reigned from AD 193 to AD 211... lived a Roman playwright from Africa ( the Roman province... not the continent as we know it today) named Publius Terentius Afer. Afer designating he was a Carthaginian of the Roman Province Africa Proconsularis of  the "Afri" people.

​According to Herodotus' "The Histories"... the name of all the land from the western border of Ancient Egypt... aka Tameri... to the western border of what is today Morocco... was called Libya. Herodotus lived during the 5th Century B.C. After Rome. ​

Further research will show that in antiquity...  Marmarica (known then as Libya Inferior) was situated on the Egypt's western border (Libya's eastern border today). Cyrenaica in antiquity was known as Libya Superior... and was to west of Marmarica... and that the waters north of Cyrenaica and Marmarica (the south Mediterranean today) was called the Libyan Sea. 

​Going back further into Tameri (Ancient Egypt) you will find that Ramesses II named the Libu (rbw in hieroglyphics)... a Berber (Moors) people as constant invaders of Egypt. Ramesses II rule began in 1279 B.C. ... which by the way predates Rome.

Look at Chapter 1 Section 4 of the Negro Law of South Carolina. Who is the term slave CONFINED to... in parenthesis (the ancient Berbers).

​Cheikh Anta Diop attributes Alkebulan as an even earlier name of Africa. Among other names were Ethiopia, Corphye, and Ortegia.

So are we truly Africans?
